When meeting with Chief Executive John Lee yesterday (16 Dec), President Xi Jinping stated that Hong Kong has achieved steady economic growth, taking new steps from stability to prosperity, and should proactively align with the national "15th Five-Year" Plan to better integrate into and serve the overall national development, promoting long-term prosperity and stability.
President Xi pointed out that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee has made top-level design and strategic planning for the national economic and social development during the "15th Five-Year" period, emphasizing the unswerving implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems," "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong," and high degree of autonomy policy, promoting Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability, and requiring Hong Kong to proactively align with the national "15th Five-Year" Plan to drive better development in Hong Kong. This is President Xi's requirement for Hong Kong, as well as an important task assigned by the central government to Hong Kong, and moreover, the work goal of Hong Kong society and the HKSAR Government.
