Statement of Full Support for Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan

The Chief Executive today (16th September) promulgated the First Five-Year Plan for the Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, marking an important milestone in the history of Hong Kong's development.

It is a major initiative to uphold and improve executive-led governance and enhance governance efficacy. It serves as a strategic blueprint to proactively align with the National 15th Five-Year Plan, thereby better integrating into and serving the overall national development. Furthermore, it constitutes an action plan to build societal consensus, unite all sectors of the community, advance Hong Kong’s transition from stability to prosperity, and achieve high-quality development. The Hong Kong Coalition expresses its warm welcome and full support for this initiative!

The Coalition fully agrees with the Seven Core Principles underlying the Five-Year Plan and fully supports the Five Major Obejectives outlined in the Five-Year Plan. The Coalition believes that this Five-Year Plan boosts investor confidence in Hong Kong’s development, inspires public hope, and fosters unity for future economic growth and livelihood improvement. The Coalition calls upon all sectors of Hong Kong society to proactively support the HKSAR Government, implement the Five-Year Plan in a pragmatic and orderly manner, and build a powerful synergy to drive Hong Kong’s high-quality development.

The Coalition firmly believes that with the strong support of the Central Authorities and the concerted efforts of the HKSAR Government and all sectors of society, Hong Kong’s first Five-Year Plan will surely guide Hong Kong to consolidate and enhance its unique advantages, cultivate new growth drivers, address deep-seated problems, ensure the steady and sustained implementation of "One Country, Two Systems", and fulfill the bright vision of advancing from stability to prosperity.
